OMERS TPM team digs in to support Fudger House
November 2, 2026

A welcoming outdoor space can make a meaningful difference in a community. That’s why members of OMERS Total Portfolio Management (TPM) team stepped away from their day-to-day work in October to volunteer at Fudger House, a long-term care home operated by OMERS employer City of Toronto.
The team rolled up their sleeves and spent time working in the home’s garden areas. Together, they planted spring bulbs, removed weeds and tidied outdoor spaces, helping prepare the gardens for the months ahead.
The activity gave TPM colleagues an opportunity to work alongside one another outside the office while contributing to a space that is part of the Fudger House community.

Most importantly, the day was about showing up where help was needed and making a practical contribution. Tasks like gardening and seasonal maintenance may be simple, but working together can make a noticeable difference in creating welcoming and well-cared-for outdoor spaces.
The experience also reflects the spirit of volunteering across OMERS, with colleagues giving their time and energy to support organizations and communities where we live and work.
What began as a day of gardening will have an impact that extends beyond October. The bulbs planted by the TPM team will have the opportunity to emerge in the spring, bringing new colour to the garden and serving as a reminder of what colleagues can accomplish when they come together to support their community.
