OMERS and Oxford helping expand access to skills and opportunity in U.K.
July 6, 2026

Access to skills and training can be a turning point for individuals looking to build a more stable future. In the U.K., one of the ways organizations are helping make that possible is through the Apprenticeship Levy, which ensures funding is directed toward meaningful development opportunities.
That’s why OMERS and Oxford have partnered with Nacro, a national social justice charity focused on rehabilitation, education, housing and reducing reoffending. Through this relationship, Apprenticeship Levy funds are being used to support training programs that help individuals gain practical skills and improve long-term employment outcomes.

The partnership goes beyond funding. As part of this ongoing collaboration, OMERS and Oxford are also donating 20 laptops to support Nacro’s learners, helping ensure participants have access to the tools they need to succeed in their training. The devices were formally presented during a handover event at OMERS and Oxford’s London office on June 3; bringing together teams from both organizations to mark this next step in the partnership.
The investment supports Nacro’s ongoing efforts to expand and modernize its training programs, including new initiatives aimed at building digital and emerging technology capabilities among staff and learners. By strengthening internal capacity and improving access to education, the program is designed to deliver measurable, long-term impact.
At its core, this partnership reflects a shared belief: that access to skills, tools and opportunity can create lasting change; not just for individuals, but for the communities they are part of.
