You already received the press release on the 2013 results. More reporting will be provided in the Annual Report and the Report to Members available online March 18th, 2014). The Report to Members will be distributed in hard copy to Plan members – including you and your constituents.

 

On February 24, 2014 OMERS announced its 2013 financial results, which included a 6.5% gross return (6.0% net), $4 Billion investment income, total net assets of $65.1, a drop in the deficit from $9.9 Billion to $8.6 billion, and an improvement in the funded status of the Plan from 85.6% to 88.2%. The news release containing this information was sent directly to OMERS Sponsors and Stakeholders on the day it was announced.

The next step in OMERS annual reporting process is the release of OMERS 2013 Annual Report and our 2013 Report to Members. The 2013 Annual Report provides detail beyond the press release, and will be posted on OMERS.com and OMERSSC.com on March 18, 2014. The Report to Members will also be posted on the websites on that date and will be printed and mailed to all OMERS members. On March 18 we will send Outreach readers a link to these documents so that you are able to prepare yourself for the questions your constituents might ask you.
