The Pension Blueprint podcast

Video transcript - Season two trailer

Blake Hutcheson: There are ways to deploy capital in large markets and small in Canada, where I think we can unlock outsized returns and do extremely well. You do that by really understanding your businesses.

Simon Chan: So, I think when we give advice, I think we have to be empathetic to the different contexts that the generations are operating in. There are new models to be learned, but there's also a lot of wisdom in some of the ways that we did life planning, retirement planning, financial planning in the past.

Prabha Ram: We have amazing industry experts that tell us about the best in their business, but our job is to then look at the best of the best in all these sectors and see which ones fit our portfolio.

Bonnie-Jeanne MacDonald: I think for the average Canadian, when they're going to make their CPP, QPP decision - like their claiming decision - is probably the most important decision that they're ever going to make.

Mark Baxter: You know, it's really important to be able to reach out.

Connie Dejak: And to look at it in a preventative way is critical, that's all of our goal.

Dr. James Aw: You know, like, how do you see yourself at 60, 65, 70? Well, who do you want that person to be? So how do we train you to get there?

Blake Hutcheson: What I've learned in life is if you focus on your people, if you focus on your culture, if you're very innovative, on your toes, thinking forward, not back - when you do those things, you make outsized returns.
