Peter Derochie

Peter Derochie was appointed by the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association (OCSTA), in collaboration with the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) to the OMERS Sponsors Corporation (SC) Board effective January 1, 2017. He is Chair of the Audit & Human Resources Committee and serves as a member of the Plan Design Committee.

Mr. Derochie retired from the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board after 32 plus years of serving in various senior leadership roles. He is past President of both the Catholic School Boards Services Association and the Ontario School Boards Financing Corporation. As the Education Council of Associations for Benefits President, he led a provincial team for the amalgamation of Management and Non-union employee benefits plans across Ontario School Boards and various Associations into an Employee Life and Health Trust.

From 2013 to 2017, Mr. Derochie was a regional representative on the Board of Directors of the Ontario School Boards’ Insurance Exchange, which is a non-profit insurance program owned by Ontario school boards.
