OMERS and Oxford are proud to be recognized in the top 10 Best Workplaces™ in Canada for 2026—ranking eighth on this year’s list by Great Place to Work®.
In a highly competitive field of leading Canadian employers, OMERS and Oxford were recognized for empowering growth and development, supporting employees and their families, and fostering a clear connection to purpose. This marks the second consecutive year that our organizations have earned a top 10 ranking and the fifth year they have been named among Canada’s top 50 Best Workplaces.
OMERS and Oxford were also recognized with the special award for Camaraderie which is given to one organization in our size category (greater than 1,000 employees), with exceptional levels of trust, pride, team spirit and with a culture where employees describe colleagues as “family.” The organization has also been certified as a Great Place to Work in the US and the UK.
The Great Place to Work® Trust Index™ employee survey noted strong employee feedback, with 91% of employees saying OMERS and Oxford are great places to work, compared with 60% at a typical organization. While results for previous years was based on a random sample of Canadian employees, this result reflects a survey of the full Canadian-based team.
“This achievement is a testament to the outstanding people who make OMERS and Oxford exceptional. It truly demonstrates our shared commitment to cultivating a workplace where everyone feels connected to our purpose,” said OMERS President and CEO Blake Hutcheson. “Being named in the top 10 of Canada’s Best Workplaces underscores a culture grounded in trust, which directly contributes to our continued investment success and the prosperity of our members and communities. I am proud of our global team and recognize that this is a testament to their collective efforts and collaboration. I congratulate the entire enterprise.”
The rankings reflect the workplace quality and consistency across all teams and roles. The Trust Index™ delves into the core aspects of a great workplace—such as trust in leadership, camaraderie among colleagues, and loyalty to the company. It also considers the diversity of responses across different demographics, ensuring that the workplace stands out for its inclusivity and equitable culture.
“This recognition reflects leaders who live our values, people managers who lead with care and accountability, and a Human Resources team that uses insight and data to continuously evolve how we support employees across roles, regions, and career stages,” said Dr. Nancy Nazer, OMERS Chief Human Resources Officer. “We strive every day to ensure we have an environment where everyone is valued and supported.
