New podcast: Blake on leadership, trust, the economy

Blake Hutcheson, our President and CEO, recently had the chance to catch up with Goldy Hyder of the Business Council of Canada to participate in an interview for a podcast series, “Speaking of Business”.

Goldy and Blake had an uplifting and wide-ranging conversation. Among many things, they talked about leadership, trust and why ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) must be a collective effort, and why working for you – over 500,000 members – has been the highlight of Blake’s career.

Be true to yourself, work hard, trust people and expect the same back – these are some of the lessons in leadership Blake shared on the latest episode. He talks about how he learned those lessons from his father and grandfather, growing up in Huntsville, Ontario.

Blake also talked about his optimism for Canada’s economic future, what small towns taught him about working together, and why he prefers playing lacrosse over hockey!
