We wanted to share a short update about some of our sustainable investing activity.

We’re proud to announce that we have completed our investment in Navisun. Based in Hingham, Massachusetts and founded in 2017, Navisun is an independent distributed generation solar power producer that acquires, co-develops, constructs, finances, owns and operates distributed and small utility-scale solar and storage projects throughout the United States. Our investment in Navisun marked our infrastructure team’s fourth renewables deal of 2021.

Tom Frazier, Managing Director of the Americas for OMERS Infrastructure said: “Navisun, like OMERS Infrastructure, is truly focused on building long-term partnerships. We are excited at this opportunity to help Navisun realize its objectives of growing into a major distributed generation solar power and storage platform.”

We’re also pleased to share some news about Leeward Renewable Energy, another of our US-based investments. Telecommunication company Verizon recently announced that it will buy clean energy generated by Leeward’s Blackford County Wind, Horizon Solar and White Wing Ranch Solar projects, as well as a wind project in development.

Leeward Chief Development Officer Andrew Flanagan said: “We are excited to expand our established relationship with Verizon, which speaks to Leeward’s strengths as a partner in helping our nation’s leading companies meet their sustainability goals. We are pleased to be recognised as a company that safely and successfully delivers reliable wind, solar and energy storage solutions to innovative companies across the country.”
