In honour of Constable Northrup and Constable Russell

We are grieving the tragic deaths of Constables Devon Northrup and Morgan Russell of the South Simcoe Police Service, who were recently killed in the line of duty.

Constable Northrup served six years with Simcoe Police and was on assignment to the Community Mobilization and Engagement Unit. He was also a member of the service’s Mental Health Crisis Outreach and Emergency Response Unit.

Constable Russell, a 33-year veteran of the service, was a trained crisis negotiator and was assigned to uniform patrol.

The senseless killings of Constables Northrup and Russell are sobering reminders of how our Plan members work on the front lines, ensuring the safety of our communities at the risk of their own. We are grieving their losses and sending sincere condolences to their families.
