In this issue you’ll find training for e-access (to help you with the new system coming next week!), resources for COVID-19 questions, information about the upcoming OMERS Employer Education Week and more.

Get ready for the new e-access

We are very excited to introduce you to the new e-access system, which will be launching on Monday, August 24th. As employers, you have been instrumental in helping us design the new system.  One of our key goals has been to fix the pain points employer administrators have experienced in the past. We believe the new system will improve the way we interact with each other about member reporting and transactions. THANK YOU for partnering with us through this journey!

While we encourage you to start using the new system, you can continue to use the existing system for the remainder of this year. The new features that we are launching on Monday are the ones that you have told us you would value the most. We will continue to develop and launch new functionality in phases over the coming months. This iterative approach will provide you with plenty of time to get to know the new features while we continue to develop the system. Your feedback is critical, so please let us know what you think about the new e-access.

This quick reference guide will help you choose which system to use for various OMERS processes.

We are also fully committed to ensuring you have the training and support that you need. Our dedicated Education & Training and Employer Services teams are ready to connect with you directly to support you through this transition. The new system also has a user-friendly design that includes built-in self-service tips and links to additional training.

Answering your COVID-19 questions

Please continue to visit our dedicated COVID-19 page on our website for answers to frequently asked questions related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the OMERS Plan. The most recent update provides guidance on which leave type should be reported in e-access for the member’s absence, please see our interactive e-Learning module.

In-Conversation: OMERS Community panel discussion – Sign up now

Join OMERS Community for a 1-hour virtual conversation with our Chief Medical Officer Dr. Aw and other thought-leaders in the health and public service sector. The panel will discuss the impact that COVID-19 has had on health and community, along with tips for how to take care of yourself and your community during this challenging time.

The panel will be moderated by Celine Chiovitti, Senior Vice President, Pension & Corporate Services.

Coming soon: Join us for OMERS Employer Education Week

Coming this fall, OMERS will be offering an exciting new learning and engagement opportunity for our employers – virtually! OMERS Employer Education Week will take place the week of October 26, 2020 and will offer a wide range of topics and activities to choose from, giving you the flexibility to register for sessions that cater to your interests and schedule.

Sessions will include key administration topics, subjects of interest surrounding the OMERS Plan, and exciting activities and guest speakers. OMERS Employer Education Week will also provide you with the opportunity to network with fellow OMERS employer representatives across the province and share best practices.
