Starting January 1, 2012, OMERS and other pension administrators in Ontario will have to follow new regulations for settlement of pension benefits in the event of a marriage breakdown (including common-law relationships).

New contribution rates have been established for the OMERS Supplemental Plan for Police, Firefighters and Paramedics (the "Supplemental Plan"). The new rates, effective from January 1, 2011, were announced by the OMERS Sponsors Corporation (SC) in August.
From August to October 2011, OMERS Retired Member Services department will send letters to 350 randomly selected retirees and others receiving an OMERS pension.
