James Donegan was appointed President and CEO of OMERS Capital Markets in September 2007 and is responsible for overseeing OMERS portfolio of public market investments.
Mr. Donegan joined OMERS in 1994 as Senior Analyst, External Funds. In 1997 he assumed responsibility for the External Funds Department. In 2006, he was made Vice President, Active Equities and assigned responsibility for all active equity portfolios managed externally and internally at OMERS.
Prior to joining OMERS he spent nine years working for investment dealers conducting research as an economist and portfolio strategist.
Mr. Donegan is a Director of The Toronto Financial Services Alliance. He received his BA (Economics) from Carleton University and his MA (Economics) from the University of Toronto, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Institute and the Toronto CFA Society.
