Member Affiliation and Employer Categories

Member Affiliations

Members of the OMERS Primary Pension Plan ("OMERS Plan") belong to a wide variety of union and association groups (or "affiliations"). The documents linked below show affiliation data in the following ways:

  • a breakdown of total membership by normal retirement age (NRA) 65 and NRA 60;
  • a breakdown of total membership by members who work full time or part time;
  • total membership in various affiliations by the percentage distribution of actuarial liabilities; and
  • total membership in various affiliations by the percentage distribution of contributions.

Employer Categories

As well, OMERS participating employers can be divided into several categories. These categories are designated by reference to generally recognized large employer sectors and those identified in sections 5 and 6 of the OMERS Act, 2006. The following tables show employer categories in the following ways:

  • a breakdown of total membership by normal retirement age (NRA) 65 and NRA 60;
  • a breakdown of total membership by members who work full time or part time;
  • total membership in various employer categories by the percentage distribution of actuarial liabilities; and
  • total membership in various employer categories by the percentage distribution of contributions.
