Rick Miller is Chair of the OMERS AC Board of Directors for 2012 and serves on the AC/SC Joint Council Sub-Committee and the Investment Committee as well as an ex-officio member on the Audit Committee, Member Services Committee, Governance Committee, and Human Resources Committee. He was appointed to the OMERS Board in 1997 and reappointed to the OMERS AC Board in June 2009.
He served as Chair of the OMERS Board in 2002 and was a member of the Executive Committee between 2000 and 2003. He also served as Chair of the Investment Committee in 2004 and 2005, followed by three years as Vice Chair. He is Chair of the Leadership Resources and Compensation Committee from 2009 through 2011 and also a member of the Governance Committee and AC/SC Joint Council Sub-Committee. During his tenure, Mr. Miller has served on all of the committees of the Board including the Pension Committee, Audit Committee and Appeals Sub-Committee.
Mr. Miller is a Captain in the Windsor Fire and Rescue Services and has been a member of the Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association (OPFFA) Pension Committee since 1993 and served for several years as Chairman. He has also served as a member of the Windsor Fire and Rescue Services and Windsor Professional Fire Fighters Association and on the board of the Windsor City Centre Credit Union.
Rick received his chartered director designation from The Directors College in 2004 and graduated from the Human Resources Executive Compensation program at The Directors College in 2009. He has also taken continuing education courses and programs which specialize in audit, governance, finance and negotiations.
