David Carrington was appointed to the OMERS Board in July 1997 and reappointed to the OMERS AC Board on June 30, 2009 as one of the two CUPE member representatives. He is an Energy Service Advisor for the Customer Management Service Department of Toronto Hydro Electric System Limited. David is the Chair of the Appeals Sub-Committee and also serves on the Audit and Investment Committees.
David's relationship with OMERS developed via his active union involvement. From 1994 to 1996, David worked as a temporary National Representative for CUPE and is currently the Recording Secretary of CUPE Local One.
David is a past chair of the Alliance for Employment Equity and was co-chair of the Employment Equity Advisory Committee at Toronto Hydro. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Toronto and a chartered director designation from The Directors College.
In his spare time David also manages to work as a successful freelance photographer.
