Bill Aziz was appointed to the OMERS AC Board in February 2009 as one of the two AMO employer representatives. He is the Chair of the Investment Committee and serves on the Human Resources Committee and the AC/SC Joint Council Sub-Committee.
Bill is President of BlueTree Advisors Inc., a firm that provides specialized corporate finance and operating advisory services to client businesses. He is also a director of Canada Bread Company Limited and Chair of its Audit Committee. He has previously served as a director of Tecumseh Products, Sun-Times Media Group, Doman Industries and Algoma Steel among other private and public companies. As well, Mr. Aziz is currently Chief Restructuring Officer of Hollinger Inc. and is advising a large multi-national conglomerate on its North American businesses.
Bill is an alumnus of Ernst & Young where he practiced public accounting for nine years. He is a graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in Honours Business Administration and is a Chartered Accountant. He studied negotiation and multi-party dispute resolution at Harvard Law School and completed the Institute of Corporate Directors Governance College at the Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto.
