Richard J. Faber

Richard Faber was appointed to the OMERS Board as the representative for retired members in June 2005 and has served on all Committees, namely the Governance, Investment, Leadership Resources and Compensation Committee and Audit. He also served as Vice Chair of the Appeals Sub-Committee and as Chair for two years on the (former) Pension Committee. He is currently the Chair of the Audit Committee.

Richard brings with him more than 30 years of successful business experience, primarily in the public and sector, where he served in various progressive managerial positions. Notably, he has served as the Director of Financial Planning, Director of Administration and also as Vice President of Finance and Administration within a global context.

Throughout his career, Richard has served on several Boards, including as Chair and President, and is presently serving on several boards, in addition to the OMERS AC Board. He is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and also has his Master’s degree. He received his accounting training with the Society of Management Accountants. He is a chartered director (C. Dir.), a designation he earned from The Directors College (sponsored by McMaster University, the DeGroote School of Business and the Conference Board of Canada).
