John A. Sabo
John Sabo is Chair of the OMERS Administration Corporation Board of Directors. He was elected Chair as of January 1, 2008 and re-elected for a second term effective January 1, 2009 and a third term effective January 1, 2010. Mr. Sabo was appointed to the OMERS Board in December 2001 and has been involved in various Board committees including serving as Vice Chair of the Board for two years and Chair of the Audit Committee for two years.
Mr. Sabo is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Masters Degree in Educational Administration and a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. He is currently the Associate Director of Leading Services and the Treasurer of the Board for the York Catholic District School Board. He has been with the school board in York Region since 1984. Prior to this he was employed with a public accounting and auditing firm in Sudbury, Ontario. In January 2005 Mr. Sabo received his Chartered Directors designation from the Directors College at McMaster University. He is currently enrolled in and pursuing a Masters Degree in Financial Accountability at York University.
Mr. Sabo was appointed in May 2008 to the OECM (Ontario Education Collaborative Market Place) Board of Directors and currently serves as Chair of the Audit & Resources committee. He is also a director and current vice-president of both the OSBFC (Ontario School Boards Financing Corporation) and the CSBSA (Catholic School Boards Services Association) as well as being actively involved in various provincial school board committees.
