On October 28, Mississauga City Council voted to seek a Judicial Inquiry into certain activities involving the City. This review will include activities related to investments that OMERS has in that city. There have been several articles in the media regarding this matter.
OMERS members can rest assured that all of our dealings with the city have been carried out to the highest standard, always protective of the interests of our plan members, including the 17,000 OMERS pension plan members who live and / or work in Mississauga. We are reviewing and will continue to review all statements made related to OMERS to ensure that, over time, appropriate steps can be taken to defend and protect the OMERS brand and to seek compensation for any damage to our reputation.
