Communications for your non-OMERS employees
The following two communications are for other-than-continuous full-time (OTCFT) employees who do not have to join OMERS as a condition of employment.
Info page for new hires not automatically enrolled in OMERS
Give all new OTCFT employees who do not have to join OMERS as a condition of employment a copy of the info page, OMERS Pension Plan enrolment for part-time employees
.
These employees may have previous employment with an OMERS employer which may help them become eligible to enrol in OMERS – some employees may even already be eligible to enrol immediately.
The info page covers the following points:
- Once you work a specific number of hours or have earn a specific amount you are eligible to enrol in OMERS.
- You can use previous employment with one or more participating employers to become eligible to enrol sooner.
- If you have recent employment that you think may help you to eligible for enrolment sooner, contact your employer.
Part-time booklet for offering membership 
To offer membership, give eligible employees Form 104 – Offer of OMERS membership (part–time employee) and a copy of the Offer of OMERS Membership (part-time employees) booklet.
