OMERS needs your help

New process

One initiative recently implemented here at OMERS is a system to image member-related correspondence and to store it electronically. This helps us to reduce paper and it also enhances the security, confidentiality and privacy of the information we hold.

The issue

Correspondence with more than one member’s private information, for example, a fax cover page, can’t be imaged and stored in a member’s file because it could be subject to release if requested by the member. This can result in incomplete information on a member’s record.

How you can help

e-Correspondence is the best way to communicate information to us. If you must send information to us another way, please send information separately for members when this can be done easily.

Note: This does not mean we cannot accept batches for some kinds of information, such as a large number of omission periods. These will continue to be treated as special processing situations.
